Holiday Q&A for Crafters

Not a Christmas craft but one I really enjoyed making a couple of years ago

Once again, we have a Q&A for crafters courtesy of Nothingbutknit2! I love these. It gives us a chance to get to know each other and tell a little bit more about our crafting. I know I'm late since the holidays are technically over but it's better late than never, right?!?! So here we go. My answers are in italics.

• Have you made holiday decorations for your home? What have you made? Do you have a tradition of making something every year? This year I would say 90% of our holiday was homemade. If you recall from this post, I didn't have the majority of my Christmas decorations so I made them. I made ornaments for the tree--cinnamon and applesauce ornaments, canning jar ornaments, dried orange garland, wreaths, and our cards. This is not a tradition that we normally have, but I think it needs to be!!

• Did you craft for holidays when you were a child? Do you have a memory of something you made? No. We didn't craft much when I was growing up.

• Do you gift items that you make? Do you surprise the recipient or do they request something? How do you judge their worthiness? Have you ever regretted gifting someone? Most of my gifts were homemade this year. Most of the gifts were unsolicited with the exception of one. But I had creative license when it came to that gift. I can't talk about it yet as the Post Office was very late in delaying the arrival of my package so I'm still not sure if my family has opened their gifts. But once I know for sure, check back because there will be a blog post about it!

I often don't give homemade gifts because I find people really want store bought items. I always feel like I am letting people down by giving them homemade gifts, even though I probably spent more money, time, and love making the gift. And yes, I have often regretted giving certain people homemade gifts. They have often 'gotten lost'.

• Have you seen a crafty project you’d like to make but haven’t? Oh yes! Lots! There are lots more crafty, homemade items to be made!! Stay tuned!

Head over to nothingbutknit2 to follow along! I hope you enjoyed all your holiday making!
