Hey friends! How are you? I'm doing really good. I finally have all the kits ready to go. As you recall, I've had the homemade food cover kits ready and then sold out! I've restocked them and I've added the homemade balm and homemade salve kits. So let's do a rundown of the balm and salve kits. For more info on the food covers, click here.

Both the salve and the balm kits will pretty much work the same except you get more oil for the salves. And you get to choose your own essential oils. I'll explain everything in detail.

Each kit has everything you need to make either salves or balms from start to finish using minimal ingredients. With the balm kit you get the following:
Instruction Card
Two ounces of carrier oil
One ounce NY State beeswax
Choice of 3 essential oils
Pipettes
Craft stick
8x8 inch tote bag

The balm kit makes approximately three 1-ounce containers of balm and takes approximately one hour to make. The canvas bags are hand-stamped by me and are reusable.

With the salve kit, you get the same except you get 4 ounces of carrier oil and the kit makes approximately five 1-ounce containers of salve. Of course you choose your own containers so you can use any combination of containers, or a single container. For example, you can make four ounces of salve (a jelly jar) and then a small 1 ounce container to carry with you. Or you can make 5 1-ounce containers and give them as gifts! The possibilities are endless.

You will also need for both kits:
containers
grater and/or knife
double boiler or glass measuring cup
labels (optional)

Ordering is pretty easy, although it does have a couple of different steps. Since you get a choice in carrier oil and essential oils, the purchasing process is a little more involved.

First, you select which carrier oil you would like. Your choices are
1. Apricot Kernel Oil: moisturizer, less greasy, helps with stiff joints, relieves dry skin
2. Avocado Oil: emollient, fast skin penetration and absorption, vitamin rich, soothes and tightens skin, antibacterial
3. Castor Oil: good in homemade soap and shampoo, softens and soothes skin, antifungal, moisturizing
4. Coconut Oil: penetrates skin easily, moisturizing, emollient, anti-inflammatory
5. Grapeseed Oil: tightens and tones skin, balances oil production, good for skin care
6. Extra Virgin Olive Oil: good for skin care, doesn’t clog pores, helps eliminate bacteria, antioxidant properties
7. Palm Oil: hydrates skin, nourishes skin, boosts immunity
8. Sunflower Oil: hydrates, facilitates skin regeneration
9. Sweet Almond Oil: heals superficial skin blemishes, boosts collagen, hydrates skin, natural sunscreen

A lot of people love coconut oil, but friends, my hands-down favorite oil to use is the sunflower oil! It's made right here in NY State in the Hudson Valley. Start to finish. You can find more info here. I've been using this oil exclusively for my homemade salves from the beginning. I love how soothing it is and how quickly it absorbs. But that's just my opinion. As you can see there are several oils to choose from.

Once you've selected your carrier oil, click "Add to Cart". Then you will need to scroll down just a little until you see the essential oil choices. You will need to choose 3, enter your name, and then submit it. You will get a confirmation reminding you to continue the checkout process.

My all time favorite essential oil is the lavender. I love a lot more than just the lavender but lavender happens to be my favorite because the one I use is made in Doylestown, PA, start to finish. It's the one I use exclusively in my salves (along with that yummy sunflower oil).

Once you submit your essential oil choices, you will need to finish the checkout process. Scroll back to the top, hover over shop, click on cart. From there you can proceed to checkout.

Make sure you choose 'kit' for shipping if it doesn't default to it automatically. Shipping is $14.35 due to the fragile state of the products and the need to use a bigger shipping box. I package everything with care, using bubble wrap and tissue paper to make sure the bottles and such are protected as best they can be.

Other items to note:
1. Please note: some people may have allergies to products in this kit. Please read contents carefully before ordering.
2. Research Essential Oils before using. Some, or all, may cause sensitivities and are for external use only.
3. These products make no claim to any healing qualities.
4. Essential oil and carrier oil information can be found here.

Guys. I am so excited about these products. I wish I could tell you how much time, love, and care went into them. I hope, hope, hope you enjoy them as much as I do! I call it a 'class in a bag'. Let me know what you think!
