River Cabin

hello friends! How are you? Things have been busy here. Anna Lee and I said goodbye to the river house yesterday. The house treated us well and gave us comfort in a very uncertain time. We were able to overcome some of our fears of being alone. Of what the future holds. Of some feelings that we were hanging onto unnecessarily. It wrapped us in its warmth and comfort. We watched eagles fly up and down the river. We watched the mating rituals of geese. We took many, many walks. But it was time to say goodbye. I’ll always look back on that house fondly for what it offered to me. Here’s a look back at some of the pictures I took from that house (although it wasn’t many!). Now it’s time for a fresh start.

Sheep Farm

I’m happy to say we’ve moved to a sheep farm! My friend has a beautifully restored farmhouse with lots of land to run and play on. She has 5 dogs (which is great for Anna Lee) as well as sheep and a horse. Anna and I talked it over and decided this would be a good move for us for the foreseeable future. We moved over yesterday. Most of our stuff will stay in storage, which is fine with us. But we do have lots of room to roam and stretch our legs. Anna has a harder time adjusting. She doesn’t always understand that I’m not leaving her. And she’s very shy when she meets new dogs, especially when it’s at their house. But she’s settling in just fine. But she did meet the sheep yesterday! She loved them! And she especially loved the treats that they leave on the ground…just for her! Heheeh.

I’ll leave you with this briefest of updates. I hope that you are doing well. I miss you all and will be in this space more now that we’re settled into a more long-term living and working situation (the inn is coming along. I’ll give you an update soon!).

’til next time
