So there was a lot of activity in the calm before the storm, or in between storms as the case may be! On Monday I went to my old town to the cafe and then to the wine shop with some friends to enjoy knitting, lattes, scones with quince jam and creme fraiche, and then to the wine shop for wine and tapas. Let me tell you about the tapas! I started with the duck with roast carrots and raisin puree and then moved on to the salt cod and olive tapenade and ended with the local blue cheese with prunes. It was all to die for but that salt cod and olive tapenade? Delicious. It was so good I forgot to take a pic before I ate one! The whole thing was just delightful! I bought the Sandy Cove Sauvignon Blanc. It needed some time to breathe but once it did it was very nice. And that fruity sign just seems to be so appropriate!

Tuesday we were expecting snow starting that night into Wednesday and all day Wednesday. We are supposed to get more snow tomorrow. But Tuesday was beautiful! The weather was nice so I sat outside with the girls editing pictures while they free ranged for a couple of hours. It was a little breezy but definitely sunny. Bobby Jack wants to be outside so bad and it makes for some great photo ops! If you follow me on instagram, you’ll know I had to buy grocery store flowers just in time for the snowstorm on Tuesday. I needed that pop of color since it was going to be gray and snowing all day Wednesday. It turns out that the snowstorm was one of the most beautiful ones I’ve seen yet. It hung on the trees and was so white. I didn’t take any pictures though.

I was in a funk today. I had major anxiety. Not sure why, but my tree tapping kit came today and we tapped 3 trees. That got me right out of my funk. The sap started flowing before we could even get the spiles in. I’m really excited to try something new on the homestead and this is the perfect thing. Also, as an update to my homestead binder-I am doing March’s inventory. You can read all about that stuff here.

Oh. I don’t think I’m going to do the yarn along this month. I think I’ve shared most of my knitting and what I’m reading here already. That’s the nice thing about the yarn along…you can do it whenever you want during the month. So if I start knitting something I can always join in. I did mess up the cabling on my kimono that I’ve been working on AND I messed up my cross stitch. So I spent some time yesterday fixing both those mistakes.

This weekend is a busy one. I think I talked about that in my last post. Between working and my other obligations it should make the time go quickly. And then the next two weeks aren’t as busy. I still have a list of things to accomplish that’s a mile long but I have also been crossing lots of stuff off that list too. And the past few days have been nice at home with the Mister, Anna Lee, Bobby Jack, and the girls. Spring’s a comin’ y’all!! I can’t wait.
