This Christmas season is upon us! I love this season. It’s a season of joy and giving. It’s a season of snuggling up under a warm blanket with a dog and cat by your side. It’s a season of making. Of snowshoeing. Of comfort. I just love it. And we are celebrating this year. In seasons past, we haven’t done much decorating. I guess I haven’t really had the extra energy but this year it’s all about decorating and celebrating. We spent most of the day Sunday cutting the tree and decorating. I made most of the ornaments this year. I couldn’t locate our decorations (they are in storage) so I decided to make them. I had a few things that I bought after the holiday season last year–the bows and the stags on the tree. We bought a couple of strands of lights. And I made the canning lid ornaments as well as the cinnamon ornaments. It was the first time I’ve made the cinnamon ornaments, and while I had a hard time rolling the dough, I love that everything smells like cinnamon! I also added some nutmeg and allspice to the dough as well (dough is made up of cinnamon, applesauce, and glue with my added additions of nutmeg and allspice). It smells delicious! And like Christmas. I also used the leftover limbs from the tree to make swags for two of our doors. I forgot to snap a pic of that! Even Anna Lee was in the Christmas spirit! Actually, she hated the deer antlers. But she was a good sport. There’s a lot to be thankful for this year and I hope you have a great holiday season! Maybe your season be merry and bright. Happy Holidays!
