Hey friends! Boy, do I have a treat for you! HEHE. I’m really excited to share this recipe with you. It’s such an easy recipe and when Mat from Cidiot told me his next podcast was going to be about dogs, I knew I had to come up with something special just for this episode. And I knew that I needed to share the dog treat recipe that I’ve been using for a long time. So I pulled out all the stops and grabbed the ingredients from the chickens and the pantry and busted out some treats for Anna Lee. I hope you love just how easy these treats are to make and how much your dog will love them. And welcome to new and old friends alike! So. Let’s all grab our ingredients and get to making, shall we?

The Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup pumpkin puree
2 eggs
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour (I used 1 cup of King Arthur Special 10 blend flour)
dash of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, or the bowl of your mixer, combine pumpkin, eggs, and peanut butter. Stir until combined.
3. Add in flour and cinnamon. Stir until combined, using your hands if you need to.
4. Lightly flour a work surface and roll out dough to at least a quarter inch thick. Use flour to on work surface to keep dough from sticking.
5. Cut desired shapes and put on baking sheet
6. Bake for at least 20 minutes. The longer you bake, the crispier the cookies will be.
7. Remove from oven and let cool.
8. Store in airtight container for up to 1 month in the refrigerator. Can freeze cookies for up to 6 months. Can also freeze dough until ready to use

That’s it friends! You can see how simple these treats are. And they’re so good for your pup. Let me know what you think and if you make them. Happy making!

’til next time
