Hey friends! Well…the time has come. I’ve been asked over and over again why I don’t make videos. They’re all the rage and I just haven’t jumped on board. Until now. I always felt that they were time consuming, and they are, but sometimes you just have to jump in! I have this vision of making videos that look like this or this, but sometimes we just have to lower our expectations, at least for the short term. Work towards things, right? So that’s what I’m doing. I’ll make short videos that I can edit within my capabilities. That’s the other thing. Editing. I’m not sure how to best do that. I want a cute trailer and then you’d have the video portion with music and voice overlay (if needed), etc. etc. That’s always seemed daunting to me. So I’ve decided to throw caution to the wind and do the best I can and just learn as I go. Sometimes that’s what you have to do.

So. I’ll outline my process in case you are thinking of making videos but have been hesitant to do the same. Or if you see some way I can improve upon my process. I’m all ears. hehe. Eventually I’ll use my big camera but for now I use my iPhone to film the actual video (if I have someone handy, I have them film short snippets). I then use iMovie to splice and edit everything together. I also realized that we film with the volume on so I turn that off in the edit feature of ‘photos’. Then you can overlay music in iMovie. I add a still photo as my intro until I can get a cute trailer put together. And then the same for the ending. In the video below, I also used a photo at the end of the video. Then I added a graphic that I made in Canva as my closing piece. I imagine in the future that ending graphic will announce different things, such as ‘for recipe head on over to chickenlibrarian.com’. Or ‘to sign up for XXC class, visit chickenlibrarian.com’. Or some such.

Anyway, here’s my first official Chicken Librarian video. I have a YouTube channel if you’d like to subscribe. I will always share all my content right here so you will never need to go find me somewhere else. Unless you want. Anyway, without further ado, I present to you….wreath making! Enjoy

’til next time
