Well hello there friends! It’s been a whirlwind few weeks and that’s putting it mildly! I’ve been traveling all over the east coast and now I’m back for a couple of weeks. I have one more trip planned and then I’ll be grounded for a while. Class bookings are going smoothly. I have a couple of new venues this year which I’m totally excited about. There’s so much to update you on but for today, let’s focus on the trip to TN, shall we?

If you recall from this post, I traveled to TN to see family but also because the parental units were giving us a truck! I’m happy to report that the truck is in great shape (as I knew it would be). It made it back from TN just fine and also made the trip to Cape Cod and back. She’s a beaut and I love her so. She’ll be really nice for commuting to my classes. I like that I can put all my class materials in the bed of the truck and still have room for things in the front of the truck.

But it wasn’t all about the truck. It was to see these guys. My nephews. I haven’t seen them since last summer when they all made the trip to the homestead. I went to karate class, cooked dinner, opened Christmas gifts, and went for ice cream at my favorite ice cream place.

I also got to visit with these folks! My parents and my brother. We had fun thrifting, visiting, and just having fun. My parents visited the homestead this past summer but I hadn’t been to TN in 2 years! So it was a nice catch up visit.

One of the things I love about east TN is the diversity. You are surrounded by mountains yet downtown Knoxville is a fun and lively place! If you remember all the way back to 2018, I took just about the same pictures as above. It’s the old mill at Norris Dam. It’s fun to look back on the pictures from 2 years ago and compare them with the ones I took this year. Isn’t that mill just so photogenic?

See what I mean about diversity? The pictures above were taken in downtown Knoxville. I haven’t been downtown in a long time. Not sure why but I will try to make a point to get downtown from now on. I met friends downtown and we went to the Tomato Head (I had THE best piece of pizza there: lamb sausage and sun dried tomatoes! YUM!). I also bought some yummy chocolates from Knoxville Chocolate Company. And had a milkshake from my favorite ice cream shop! And then as I was leaving I was right in front of the sunsphere. But alas, I was driving and couldn’t stop for a good picture.

The trip back was good. I drove it straight and made it in 12 hours, from door to door. I’m glad I got a chance to visit TN again and see the family. Now I have to catch you up on all the other things that have been going on! Til next time.
xoxo
